September 2nd – Andrew and Hannah – Diocese of Fresno, CA “I appreciate how this course brought us closer to each other and made us focus on our faith”

Him: Everything that I hoped we would get from this course was met and, in the process, we learned so much more than what we had expected.  I don't think we understood just how important God is in marriage.  The course broke everything down in great detail so we now have a better understanding of this sacrament we are about to take.

Her: This course strengthened the relationship between us and our relationship with God.  I don't think we quite understood the importance of God within a marriage.  The course covered so much information that was fairly new to us, but a lot of it moved us with emotion and had a tremendous impact on our relationship.  We learned about potential problems within ourselves that can affect our marriage and our marriage with God.  We had great leaders during the course that pointed us in the right direction and helped us better understand the new journey that we are on together.

Both: This course improved our communication and got us to talk about some uncomfortable subjects that we might face in marriage.  We were able to talk about what we wanted from each other, in the future, and potential problems that we did not want to happen.  Each course provided us with the opportunity to discuss our feelings and our marriage.  We had time to talk in great detail and learn to be supportive in each other.  We learned about the importance of forgiveness in marriage and talked about how we will focus on God in all of the things we do.  The love letters were extremely helpful in our relationship and gave us a way to improve our communication.  We have decided to implement this in our relationship from now on.

September 3rd – Patrick and Nikki – Archdiocese of New Orleans, LA “This course really allowed me to open up to my fiancé about my faith and also about my expectations I have for our future”

Him: I really enjoyed this course. It has taught me a lot about opening up to Nikki about my intentions and needs in this marriage. Keeping God at the center of our relationship is most important.

Her: This course has helped me and Patrick discuss topics we may not have thought about before. Not only has it taught us a lot about our own personal faith, but how we can share our faith with each other and instill those values in our future family. We will continuously work on our relationship with each other, praying for guidance along the way. We will work to keep God at the center of our lives.

Both: We were able to share things we might not have thought to open up about. This course helped us discover important topics we needed to cover to begin building our foundation, such as our plans for Natural Family Planning, our individual views on prayer, the importance of forgiveness, our plans for money, and much more!

September 4th – Ryan and Allisyn – Diocese of Superior, WI “It made me look at things in a different perspective”

Him: I grew up with not having a married parent. All of this was new to me, and it was nice learning what are the roles on both sides of marriage, and how marriage came to be in the Catholic religion.

Her: This course was very helpful and brought me closer to God. I believe it helped bring God into my life before I begin my new journey into marriage.

Both: It helped us talk through different situations that we did not think of before. It helped us grow as a couple and we will take what we learned into our lives in the future. It was a self-paced course making us not feel rush when completing the assignments and giving us more time to understand and do our best work.

September 5th – Nish and Leticia – Archdiocese of Baltimore MD “I really appreciated being able to show my husband the perspective of the Catholic faith”

Him: I really liked it because through the course we were able to reflect on our relationship and dialogue about our beliefs, ideas and life projects. This helped to strengthen our communication, and I believe that without the course we would hardly stop to debate all these aspects at once.

Her: The course covered fundamental topics such as love, respect, sexuality, faith, coexistence, relationships with family and even finances. This helped us to have a richer and more complete vision of what marriage is. And this also helped us understand the sacrament of marriage and the importance of faith in married life.

Both: The course helped to strengthen our communication and to start building the foundations of our marriage. We spoke about some subjects that we often consider taboo and people avoid talking about to avoid some type of conflict. But through the course we were able to abort in a practical way.

September 6th – Lucas and Lauren – Diocese Toledo, OH “It definitely helped me gain a better understanding about our Catholic faith and the expectations of our marriage”

Him: Insightful, resourceful and more than just a course. This helped open up our communication about ourselves and our relationship with one another. Our goals, our dreams, what we can work on together, individually and how we can achieve them.

Her: I have gained more knowledge about marriage as a sacrament and have grown much closer to my partner. We have grown closer together and have made God closer to the center of our relationship.

Both: It sparked conversations about topics that were uncomfortable, serious, and heavy, allowing us to truly discuss our opinions and thoughts.
