July 1st – Christopher and Alison – Diocese of Allentown. PA “The course reminded me that there are other Catholics that I may seek advice and guidance from”

Him: Valuable lessons were taught in this course, and it opened up dialogue on topics we would not normally discuss. It is important that we had these discussions prior to getting married as we now better understand each other and have learned new ways to communicate from taking this course.

Her: This course allowed us to analyze our relationship and our connection to the church on a deeper level than we previously had. It has helped prepare us to enter marriage with open communication, love, and faith.

Both: We were able to have open conversations about the topics addressed in this course and ensure we were on the same page. This will allow us to better handle any decisions and potential problems encountered in our marriage.

July 2nd – Oscar and Myriam – Diocese of Salt Lake City “-”

Him: I learned a lot about our religion and how to become a good catholic.

Her: I’m very pleased with this course, I have learned so much. I feel a lot more prepared for the commitment I’m about to make. I feel closer to God and my religion. I learned the importance of marriage the blessing you receive from God.

Both: We feel like it got us closer even though I never thought it would be possible, it’s a different kind of commitment.

July 3rd – Saylor and Yashara – Archdiocese of Portland, OR “I appreciated there was no judgement from our instructors”

Him: I thought the course was good, I learned new ways to love and appreciate my wife.

Her: I appreciated the feedback from the course instructors, and I thought the course brought up many good ideas for strengthening our marriage.

Both: This course brought up many great conversations. Even though Saylor is not religious, it brought up many conversations about why Yashara believes what she believes, what that means for the future, and how to support her and kids going forward. We also really enjoyed conversations brought up by the last chapter.

July 4th – Mitchell and Kaylynn – Diocese of Austin, TX “I appreciated the extremely thoughtful responses from our teachers”

Him: The couple we were assigned have been more than insightful and encouraging through the entire process. The course material was also very informative and useful.

Her: The course and couple exceeded our expectation of this course we were pleasantly surprised with our experience.

Both: It gave us tools to help us when were frustrated with each other to not argue to hurt one another but help better understand each other.

July 5th – Francisco and Adrianna – Diocese of Lubbock, TX “I appreciate it being able to discuss clearly about what our roles in a marriage are going to be”

Him: The course was well structured, and did a great job at getting us to think about our relationship in ways that we haven’t before. We have become stronger as a couple because of this course.

Her: This class had us talking about topics that we either never got around to or we were trying to avoid and it really made us closer to God and to each other.

Both: We had to talk about topics that we were avoiding, topics that we didn’t think of and now that we understand what the other person thinks on these topics, we can build our relationship while keeping the boundaries that we set in mind
